Transelectrica has announced an investment plan of 9.49 billion lei for the development of the electricity transmission network in the period 2024-2033, exceeding the previous plan by more than 2 billion lei.
The plan includes 12 new projects focused on modernization, supply security, integration of renewable sources, and increasing interconnection, with the largest portion of the investments (approximately 2.9 billion lei) allocated to modernization.
Investments in the integration of renewable sources will reach nearly 2.7 billion lei, while those for increasing interconnection will exceed 2.4 billion lei, contributing to achieving the target of 7,000 MW for cross-border exchanges.
The financing will come from the regulated transmission tariff (66%), revenues from capacity allocation (17%), and non-reimbursable European funds (17%).
