Hidroelectrica has signed a contract with WALDEVAR Energy for the construction of a 10 MW floating photovoltaic park in Ipotești, on the Olt River.

The pilot project, named NUFĂRUL, will generate electricity through photovoltaic panels placed on the reservoir of the Ipotești hydroelectric power plant.

The contract, worth 39,250,000 RON excluding VAT, has a completion deadline of 14 months and includes design, procurement, and installation.

WALDEVAR Energy, with the support of subcontractors, will implement the project, which is considered the largest of its kind in the European Union.

This project marks an important step for Hidroelectrica in diversifying energy production and harnessing the potential of renewable sources.
