Monsson - the first hybrid photovoltaic wind battery project

Monsson inaugurated this spring the country's largest battery electricity storage system.

Monsson, a major player in Romania's renewable energy industry, inaugurated this spring the country's largest battery electricity storage system. This innovative project, located in Constanta, integrates a hybrid park combining wind and photovoltaic energy. With a total capacity of 85 MW from an existing 50 MW wind farm and a 35 MW photovoltaic farm under construction, the system is designed to balance the fluctuating output of renewable sources.

This storage project plays a crucial role in stabilizing the national energy grid (SEN), helping to increase the use of renewable energy sources and reduce costs for consumers. The lithium-ion batteries used are produced by Prime Batteries Technology, a Romanian company specialized in energy storage solutions.
